Briefs from the Nasarawa State Security Council Meeting
The Nasarawa State security Council under the Chairmanship of Nasarawa State Governor , His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura met at the Government House Council Chambers , where some issues were discussed and the Press briefed by the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General Barr. Abdulkarim Kana flanked by some Security Chiefs .
The Coming of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Nasarawa State Tomorrow ( Tuesday 22nd May.) To access the efforts and progress that the state has mad so far in peace building , especially among communities that are affected by crisis and some of the challenges the state faces at the border between Benue State and Nasarawa State
The security Council Meeting they also received reports about the progress made so far particularly by the Tiv Community and the Fulani Community in the reconciliation efforts among them. Which as so far yielded fruits and seen to the return of displaced persons mostly back to their homes., stating that peace between the Fulani and Tiv in awe Obi Keana and Doma has succeeded and have achieved the desired results.
They also discussed the security situation in Toto and governments efforts that are being made to ensure that the same progress that has been used to build peace between the TiV and Fulani is also achieved between the Ebira and Bassa peoples.
The meeting also discussed the upcoming Local Government elections which would come up Saturday 26th May , the security arrangements that had been made so far to ensure a free , fair, secured and successful election is conducted in all 13 LGAs of Nasarawa State .
