Ishaku Usman, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary for Nasarawa State and Ministry of Justice was born in Lafia on June  22, 1966. He had his primary education at the St. William’s Primary School Lafia where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He gained admission into the Government Secondary School, in Obi Local Government of Nasarawa State to obtain General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1984. Upon completion of his Secondary School he proceeded to School of Preliminary Studies in Keffi to obtain Interim Joint Marticulation Board Examination in 1987. He proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University  Zaria, Nigeria to undergo his undergraduate law training, after which he bagged a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 1990. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in Lagos to become a Barrister-At-Law (BL) in 1991.

Ishaku Usman’s work experience is such an enviable one. He started with National Youth Service Corps Legal and Council in Akure, Ondo State in 1991 – 1992. He became a legal practitioner with Akanedu E. Uwatt & Co in Lagos and worked there till 1993. He gained employment with Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice in 1994 as State Counsel. He is having an impressive career in the State’s Civil Service and has worked tirelessly for the people of Nasarawa State. His selfless service to humanity paved way for him to become Permanent Secretary in 2015.

Ishaku Usman has bagged numerous HONOURS and AWARDS.  A few of which is:

Certificate of Merit Award Issued by Office of Head of Civil Service of Nasarawa State for Punctuality on the Occasion of the 2007 Civil Service Week Celebration.

Ishaku Usman has attended countless numbers of Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. A few of which is:

Ø Workshop on Anti Corruption, Fiscal Responsibility and Good Governance by EFCC (September 2014, Abuja).

Ishaku Usman is a widely traveled man who has visited over 20 States across the country for both business and leisure.

Married and blessed with children, Ishaku Usman out of his tight schedules enjoys spending time with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and preaching.

Ishaku Usman is a God fearing and a sociable man, who has dedicated himself to working for justice to prevail.
